Dr. Michael Tufaga is a Post-Doctoral Scholar and Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Tufaga earned his undergraduate degree in Microbiology with an emphasis in Clinical Technology and Public Health at San Diego State University. He then completed his Post-Baccalaureate Training, Medical School and General Surgery Internship at UCSF. His basic science and clinical research focuses on the prevention and repair of incisional hernias and is currently coordinating a large, prospective randomized trial studying the clinical outcomes of complex ventral hernia repair. His clinical interests are in the care and prevention of traumatic injury and disease.
